In this issue of Healthcare Matters, we are pleased to feature Fairfield Care as our Interiors Company of the Month.
Balancing practical demands with a homely atmosphere is central to Fairfield Care’s interiors offering, which spans furniture, furnishings and bedding for bedrooms, lounges and dining areas.
Founded in 1993, Fairfield Care began by supplying care equipment to the local community from premises on Fairfield Road in Biggleswade – the address that inspired its name. Now based in Bedford, the family-run business operates from one office and warehouse and supplies care homes across the UK. Its focus is on residential, nursing and dementia care settings, where well-chosen products can make a meaningful difference to residents and those supporting them.
The range includes profiling beds, mattresses, wardrobes, bedside tables and supportive seating, alongside lounge and dining furniture and bedding. Bespoke upholstery and a choice of colours help care homes create co-ordinated interiors without compromising on function. In communal spaces, comfortable sofas and armchairs can encourage rest and conversation, while sturdy dining chairs and easy-to-clean surfaces support everyday use. Fairfield Care also offers dementia-friendly furniture, recognising that residents and settings have different needs.
Beyond supplying products, the team advises care homes on choices that take residents’ needs, accessibility, comfort, durability and ease of maintenance into account. With more than 3,700 product lines spanning furniture and everyday care essentials, as well as equipment servicing, Fairfield Care can help simplify procurement and keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. Its tagline, ‘Quality solutions for care you can trust,’ reflects an emphasis on dependable products and attentive support. Ultimately, interiors should feel like home.
That practical approach extends beyond furniture and furnishings to the everyday demands of maintaining a care environment. Fairfield Care has also introduced Pure.V, its sustainable cleaning range developed specifically for care settings.
As Holly Murray, Head of Marketing, explains, “Our mission is to be trusted advisers and partners to our customers. We want to be more than just a supplier; we want to be an extension of their team, helping them deliver outstanding care to their residents. We don’t aim to be the cheapest in the market. Instead, we focus on providing high-quality products that people can rely on, that last and that do the job effectively.”
“Last year, we launched Pure.V, our sustainable cleaning range, developed specifically for care homes. Each product uses naturally derived ingredients and is designed for a particular area of the home, with the aim of being safer for residents, staff and the planet.”
The Pure.V range covers a variety of cleaning tasks, from kitchens and washrooms to laundry, carpets and upholstery. Concentrated formulations can help reduce storage requirements and packaging waste, while packaging is made from 100% post-consumer-recycled materials and is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Fairfield Care also provides COSHH documentation and training to help staff understand how to handle and use products appropriately. Together, these features make the range a practical addition to everyday housekeeping routines.
Support extends beyond the products themselves. Customers have access to a dedicated account management team, alongside a customer care team that handles queries and processes orders. Fairfield Care’s own delivery drivers take orders directly to the required location within a home, whether that is a storeroom or a particular floor. Its qualified engineers also carry out six-monthly LOLER inspections, equipment repairs, hoist and bath installations, emergency call-outs and staff training. The servicing administration team arranges visits in advance, helping care homes stay organised and ensuring essential equipment remains safe and ready for use.
Behind this breadth of support is a business that has continued to grow. In June 2025, Fairfield Care moved to larger premises following significant growth over the previous five years. Its new office and warehouse are 80% larger than its previous location, providing additional space for stock and allowing the company to expand its customer care and account management teams. This investment puts the business in a stronger position to support existing customers while welcoming new ones.
Looking ahead, Fairfield Care aims to build on this growth while remaining focused on care home groups across the UK. Its priority is to ensure that increased capacity goes hand in hand with responsive support and the personal approach that has shaped the business since 1993. By continuing to invest in its products, people and services, Fairfield Care hopes to remain a dependable partner to care providers, helping them create welcoming environments and deliver outstanding care to the people who matter most: their residents.
